   Nick’s workshops are great. Wonderful locations and fantastic photographic tuition for all levels, from beginners to those with more experience. Thoroughly recommended.

   My friend and I booked to go onto the Lakes workshop a few weeks ago (March 2016), unfortunately when we got there the heavens opened and we had torrential rain non stop. Nick tried a few differnt locations that he knows but we were literally rained off. We carried onto Buttermere where we had an hour in a cafe and a lovely sausage sarnie so we could sit to see if the rain eased off, however it didnt stop raining.
   Nick decided it was silly to hang around in the torrential conditions so decided to call it a day, on the way back Nick took us to numerous spots on the North coast where we could at least capture some images and give us some one to one tuition. (He didn’t have to do that)

   Work commitments has not allow us to re-book as yet so Nick give us a full refund. We will be re-booking again soon as we saw how genuine and funny he was as well as his knowledge on photography and knowing the best locations for the best shots.

   I genuinely would recommend this workshop if you are thinking of going onto the trip, I intend to do the Scotland workshop when I can.

   Be prepared for a long day, from sun up to sun down you will be in a superb location to take photographs and many more in between. Great tuition and the company of like minded people makes for a superb day out, I would recommend this to any landscape photographer.

   I have been on one labelled workshop with Nick, it was value for money without doubt. We left at 8 in the morning getting back home at 1 in the morning the following day. Nick has an exceptional knowledge of the Lakes and we went to several beautiful places, Elterwater, Blea Tarn, Sunset at Buttermere then some night shots at Derwent Water. We went to other places that I can’t remember, but it was a great day. Nick has a very layback style which puts you at ease and allows you to take more in. He has a great ability to spot an unusual angle for a shot, and the capability to pass on his knowledge of landscape photography and camera settings. I would not hesitate to recommend his workshops to anyone.

   Nick has exactly the right approach to this sort of thing: helping you out with composition, set-up, technique and basically enabling you to get the most out of your time in a beautiful part of the world. Nick is knowledgeable without being patronising, helpful without being condescending and wraps it all up with humour and a love for what he does. A day with Nick can help you out in so many ways and can completely change how you approach your photography; equally, it can perfectly complement what you’re already doing and allow you to hone in on one particular aspect that you get frustrated with. I am a better photographer for spending time in Nick’s company and would heartily recommend his workshops to anyone wishing to improve their own work.
