Isle of Skye Workshop 2015.

Tuesday.

Everyone had a bit of a lie in on Tuesday morning, then got up and had another cooked breakfast (made by chef Jim). We then got ready and went for a drive up towards Neist point via Dunvegan Castle. The weather was disgusting and we knew we’d probably not be able to take any photographs but we decided to go out anyway and have a wander about. We went to Dunvegan Castle first and we didn’t even get out of the car, sideways rain and strong wind. We moved on to Neist Point which was just crazy. The rain and wind were insane. The cameras stayed in the car while we went for a walk along the cliff top. The onshore wind was blowing the water that was running off the cliffs straight back up over the top into our faces but we all went up anyway to have a look. You can’t go to Skye and not go to Neist Point, even if it’s horrible. It’s a beautiful place. We walked back to the car, Jake slipped and tried to slide off the cliff on his knees but thankfully only slid a few feet and managed to stop well clear of the edge! We got back to the cars and relative shelter of the Hut at the car park. We got the cameras out to try and take a couple of record snaps but everyone just ended up taking pictures of each other trying to take photos in the rain! We stayed there for an hour or so having a laugh at the ridiculous weather and clinging on to a faint hope that it might clear for sunset – no such luck! We left Neist Point and headed back to Dunvegan to find a coffee – we managed to find a small café so settled in with some scones and tea, typical English style. After an hour or so we left to go back to the cottage. We then got changed and headed into Portree for some food. We ended up in a pub where we had some tea and a pint then off back to the cottage. We packed up all of our gear ready to leave early in the morning as we had a fair few places we wanted to stop on the Wednesday. A little more post processing then off to bed.
